Expungement
Expungement is essentially a reward for successfully completing probation. The attorney files a motion with the court which, if granted, changes the official record of your case. Instead of the file showing a conviction for the charge offense, it states that you entered a plea of not guilty and the case was subsequently dismissed.
One advantage to getting your record expunged is that you are then entitled to answer the question on most job applications as to whether you have been convicted of a crime with a resounding "No!"
